I received a note from Srishti Jha, partner in a new legal research company Jurix Prudent. She wanted to let me know that her company would donate a limited amount of free legal research to lawyers displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The company is new and so it is limited in how many hours it can afford to donate, but it would like to help in some way, she said. Jha, a lawyer and former law clerk to the chief justice of the Supreme Court of India, and her partner, Jason Gabbard, a former associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, use researchers in India.

Jha also writes a blog aimed at India-U.S. technology transfers, Lex India. Contact her through the company’s Web site.
