In wake of tragedy, large firms silent

2 Comments · Posted by Robert Ambrogi in General

I found myself wondering how the nation’s 10 highest-grossing firms are responding to the tragedy in the Gulf. Using The AmLaw 100 list, I visited the Web sites of the top 10 firms. I found only one that had a reference of any kind to Katrina — an offer by Jones Day to help businesses recover insurance proceeds. Obviously, the silence of a firm’s Web site does not mean the firm is failing to act; I did not call each firm to ask about this. But I hope that large firms are using their resources to help in this time of national crisis.

Ours is, I’m sure there’ll be more about it soon.

    Dear Robert,
The owners of our company, David and Lois Kalmick, have decided to match funds donated by all of the employees here. I think they are wonderful for doing that!
