My cellphone pic of this 1843 newspaper is too blurry to read. But in the upper-left hand corner, it bears this notice regarding forms of payment: “Produce of all kinds taken in exchange for the paper.”

This old newspaper was on exhibit at the Cape Ann Museum as part of a display on the history of newspapers.
