A new Web site, still in beta testing, aims to connect freelance lawyers and other legal professionals with law firms and legal departments needing temporary help. The site, FreelanceLaw.com, will allow freelance attorneys, paralegals, court reporters, interpreters and other legal professionals to post their qualifications. Law firms and businesses in need of contract help will be able to search the database and directly contact anyone listed there.

The site says that 850 freelancers have signed up so far to serve as beta testers. It is offering a webinar on July 29 for anyone interested in learning more about it. The site was founded by Melody A. Kramer, an attorney in San Diego.
