How does your lawyer salary compare to those of others in your field? Soon you may be able to find out using a web-based lawyer salary and intelligence tool called PayCloud.
Currently seeking lawyers to join the beta version of its site, PayCloud aims to provide lawyers with the ability to compare their salaries against those of others in comparable fields and locations and to obtain regularly updated data on how salaries are developing within a given field.
The site will not enable sharing of salaries specifically, but will allow anonymous pooling of data that will facilitate salary analysis on a granular level, according to its developers. The “about” page describes it this way:
Although there are many sources of salary data out there, we have not seen any that would be simple enough to use to encourage wide user adoption, and provide you with near real-time salary data that enables you to make a more informed call on i) whether to ask for more money, or ii) whether for example applying for a new job at a competing firm might make sense.
The site is being developed by Linclaw, a small Nordic law firm with offices in Finland and Sweden that provides legal services to small- and medium-sized technology companies.
