In January, I am slated to become president of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, the premier legal charity supporting access to justice and civil legal services in Massachusetts.

MBF Logo2I am particularly honored because 2014 is a momentous year for the MBF — its 50th anniversary. This milestone will be marked by two events, the MBF’s traditional annual meeting on Jan. 23, 2014, and a 50th anniversary gala dinner on Oct. 23, 2014.

At the annual meeting in January, the MBF will present its Great Friend of Justice Award to attorney Michael E. Mone of Esdaile, Barrett, Jacobs & Mone. At the gala dinner in October, plans are underway to feature a nationally prominent speaker.

The MBF, through its grant programs and charitable activities, represents the commitment of the Massachusetts legal community to improve the administration of justice and to ensure equal access to the legal system for all residents. This year, the MBF provided $2.15 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across the state whose attorneys and staff are working hard to make equal access to justice a reality.

Sponsorship Opportunities

To help the MBF continue to carry out this important mission, it is seeking corporate and law firm sponsors of its annual meeting. Sponsorships range in amounts from $500 to $10,000. For this 50th anniversary year, any sponsorship of $2,500 or more is a two-fer — it includes recognition at both the annual meeting in January and the gala dinner in October. These Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorships also include publicity throughout the 50th anniversary year, as well as tickets to the gala dinner.

I would be happy to provide you with more information on the MBF and sponsorship, or you can learn more about sponsorship levels directly through the MBF website.

I hope you will consider becoming a sponsor and helping to commemorate 50 years of good work supporting access to justice.
