Well, here’s a licensing deal I would not have seen coming: LexisNexis and Fastcase. The two companies announced today that Fastcase will now be the exclusive provider of Collier TopForm & File, a tool for creating and filing bankruptcy forms. Previously available only on CD-ROM, the new web version hosted by Fastcase will be known by the abbreviated name TopForm.

Under the agreement, Lexis will continue to provide editorial support and updates to TopForm through 2017, while Fastcase will focus on developing a web-based version of the product and integrating it with its legal research service. The web version is slated to be ready in the spring. Until then, Fastcase will continue to sell the CD-ROM.

During the transition, current subscribers will experience no changes in their access and software updates will continue to be issued, the announcement said.
