Lou Andreozzi, CEO of .law

There is news today about the new “.law” generic top-level domain. At Legaltech West Coast, Minds + Machines — the company with the exclusive license to operate the .law gTLD — made two announcements:

  • It has formed a strategic partnership with ALM Media to collaborate on advertising and marketing for the .law domain. In connection with the partnership, ALM will adopt more than 100 .law URLs for its existing legal sites and for new product rollouts.
  • It also announced that the Sunrise period for .law — during which trademark holders are given an advance opportunity to register corresponding names — will begin on July 30. General availability of the names will begin on Oct. 12, at which point they will be on sale to credentialed legal practitioners.

As I reported here in April, Lou Andreozzi, the former chairman of Bloomberg Law and former CEO of LexisNexis North American Legal Markets, was named CEO to lead the .law gTLD, which is operating as a division of Santa Monica-based Minds + Machines.
