In an effort to provide better service in alerting people to unsafe, hazardous or defective products, six federal agencies with vastly different jurisdictions have joined together to create Recalls.gov — a one-stop shop for U.S. government recalls. The six government regulatory agencies participating in recalls.gov are: U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Food and Drug Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service and the Coast Guard. The site is fully searchable and lists product recalls in categories that include Consumer Products, Motor Vehicles, Boats, Food, Medicine and Cosmetics.
