Having never gotten around to blogging last week’s episode of our weekly legal-affairs podcast Lawyer2Lawyer, and with this week’s now in the can, I have a two-fer to report:
- The California ruling and the gay marriage debate. On May 15, California’s Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in that state, making it only the second state after Massachusetts to recognize gay marriage. We discuss the ruling and its impact with guests from both sides of the debate: Tara Borelli, staff attorney in the Western Regional Office of Lambda Legal, and Brian S. Brown, executive director of the National Organization for Marriage.
- Books for attorneys. My Lawyer2Lawyer cohost, J. Craig Williams, has a new book just hitting the shelves, How to Get Sued. In this episode, Craig and I are joined by Jones Day partner Mark Herrmann, author of the best-selling ABA book, The Curmudgeon’s Guide to Practicing Law, as we discuss how each of them got involved in writing and learn more about their books. And of course I work in a plug for my book, The Essential Guide to the Best (and Worst) Legal Sites on the Web.
