We are honored to have Jack Greenberg as our guest this week on the legal-affairs podcast Lawyer2Lawyer to share his thoughts on the lessons to be learned from last week’s arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. Greenberg was one of the lawyers, along with Thurgood Marshall, who argued Brown v. Board of Education before the Supreme Court in 1954, when he was assistant counsel to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (and Marshall was its chief counsel). He later became its director-counsel, a position he held until 1984. Now the Alphonse Fletcher Professor of Law at Columbia Law School, Greenberg has argued 40 cases before the Supreme Court.
