Transporter, a device that lets lawyers set up their own private cloud for secure file storage, has been named as the year’s top new product for lawyers in TechnoLawyer’s listing of the top 25 new products and services.

The top 25 are selected based on clicks by readers of TechnoLawyer’s TL NewsWire newsletter, a weekly newsletter that covers new products and services of interest to legal professionals. Each report contains a trackable link that is used to tally clicks.

“Given the popularity of Dropbox, Transporter’s first place finish is not surprising,” TechnoLawyer said. “It combines the ease of use of Dropbox with the security of a file server because it resides in your home or office.
