Seems kind of crazy that I’ve been doing this blog for 12 years. But here’s the evidence, my first post, on Nov. 19, 2002: Welcome to my blog.

Why do I keep doing it after a dozen years? It’s fun. It keeps me on my toes. It’s helped me make some very good friends and meet many interesting people. And every so often I get a scoop, which makes the former newspaper reporter in me very happy.

I am thankful to all of you who bother to read this. I know for a fact there are a couple of you who’ve followed this blog, on and off, from the start. Even if you’re a brand-new reader, I appreciate it.

Some say blogging is dead. To me, it feels more alive than ever. Here’s to another 12 years — or at least another one or two.

Congratulations, Bob. That’s an impressive feat. You’ve set the standard that other attorneys follow.

  • Congratulations on 12 years, Bob! I always find your posts interesting and providing valuable content.

  • Congratulations! I have gotten great information from your blog. I am an academic librarian at a university without a law school, but does have pre-law in the school of public policy, so I try and keep track of useful legal resources. I am also co-author of a blog on personal knowledge management for academia and librarians, and recently did a blog post on productivity tools for law ( Keep up the excellent work!

  • Thanks for keeping us updated about the Internet. Always a good read. Glad to know you in person too and not just virtually.

  • Thanks for a dozen years of some of the best insights on the intersection of law, journalism, and technology. I have too many favorites to mention, not the least of which is your analysis of whether one should write, ‘e-discovery’ or ‘eDiscovery.’ Looking forward to the next dozen years.

Congratulations Bob. I’ve enjoyed your posts.

  • If I had something silk or linen to give you, I’d do it. Congratulations! Here’s to the next 12!

  • I add my congratulations also, Bob. Your blog is very professionally presented and offers all of us some very informative insight into cutting edge ideas, products and services that are helpful in many ways. Always good to see a BC Law guy providing a great service to fellow attorneys.

  • Happy Birthday! Congratulations, Bob!

  • Wow, great blog. I’m really impressed.
