It was nine years ago this month that Rocket Matter introduced the first cloud-based practice-management platform, followed a week later by Clio. The two companies brought about a sea change in how lawyers manage their practices and use the cloud.

Recently, I sat down with Rocket Matter’s founding partner and CEO Larry Port for what turned out to be a wide-ranging and thoughtful conversation. Our talk covered the origins of his company, the evolution of his product, his thoughts on the legal marketplace, his advice for legal startups, and even his current reading list.
