In news that should bring solace to all lawyers who fear losing ground to AI robot overlords, an artificial intelligence contract-review company has announced the addition to its board of advisors of a distinctly non-artificial intelligence in the area of legal contracts.

LegalSifter, whose product uses AI to review contracts and identify critical or missing concepts, is announcing today that contracts expert Ken Adams is joining the company as an advisor.

Ken Adams

Adams is known to many for his Adams on Contract Drafting blog, which the ABA Journal added to its Blawg 100 Hall of Fame in 2015. He is also the author of A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting, published by the American Bar Association. He is a frequent speaker on drafting clearer contracts and consults with companies looking to improve their contract templates.

For LegalSifter, Adams will review and write the default help text that clients receive when they first subscribe to the product. He will also help determine what issues LegalSifter should look for, and how. He will talk with existing and potential clients on an ongoing basis to inform the LegalSifter product design and roadmap.

“Having Ken as a hands-on member of our team will send a strong signal to our clients that the help they receive from LegalSifter is state-of-the-art,” Kevin Miller, LegalSifter’s CEO, said in an announcement. “Ken has demonstrated an unflagging commitment to a more effective contracts process. We’re stronger for having Ken as part of LegalSifter.”
