A longtime ILTA board member and past-president of the organization, Rush currently leads sales operations at Litera Microsystems, a global provider of content management software. She was formerly at the law firm Sidley Austin, where she was director of enterprise multimedia services and, earlier, director of applications.
As I previously reported here and here, in August, on the eve of ILTA’s annual conference, it was announced that CEO Dan Liutikas would be leaving to pursue another professional opportunity. Liutikas had become CEO in March 2017, succeeding longtime executive director Randi Mayes, who had announced her retirement in July 2016.
In a statement announcing Rush’s hiring, Angela Dowd, ILTA board president, said:
Joy’s combination of legal technology know-how and first-hand experience as an ILTA member, leader and business partner make her an excellent choice to take on this critical leadership role. I had the pleasure of working with Joy early in my ILTA career and am thrilled to have an opportunity to work with her again in this capacity.
In the same statement, Rush said:
My career would not be where it is today without ILTA. I would not be the leader I am without my ILTA volunteer experiences, and I would not be the person I am without my ILTA relationships. Although I am saddened to leave the dynamic team at Litera Microsystems, I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to serve ILTA in this leadership role.
Since launching the CEO search in August, ILTA said, it reviewed more than 100 resumes, looking for candidates with executive leadership experience, knowledge of the legal technology community and a demonstrated commitment to the association’s mission and core values.
