An email alert service launched today by legal research company Fastcase, COVID-19 Case Alerts, provides daily updates on new civil opinions, selected pleadings, breaking news, and analyses of legal issues related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The alerts, delivered each business day except holidays, provides a snapshot of the latest legal developments on COVID-19, Fastcase says. This includes case decisions from Fastcase, newly filed complaints and pleadings from Docket Alarm, blog posts from the LexBlog network, and legal news from Law Street Media.

Items within the alerts are organized by topics, which include business law, consumer rights, labor and employment, insurance, legislative relief, medical malpractice and wrongful death.

For cases, the alerts include a brief excerpt and a link to the opinion on Fastcase that is public so that users can view and share it with others.

The alert service is available free to everyone who receives Fastcase access as a bar association member benefit. Bar members can subscribe to the COVID-19 Case Alerts by logging in to Fastcase, clicking on Apps & Tools, and then clicking the link to the free subscription sign-up page.

For all others, paid subscriptions are available for $29 per month or $295/year. Click here to subscribe monthly, or here for an annual subscription. Enterprise pricing is also available, Fastcase says.

“This is a dangerous and fast-changing pandemic, and it’s more important than ever for firms to be ahead of the curve when advising clients,” Fastcase CEO Ed Walters said in a statement announcing the service. “There is no excuse for missing key developments, especially now.”
