After struggling privately for decades with her assigned gender, Gillian Power, chief information officer at the law firm Lathrop GPM in Kansas City, finally made the difficult decision to come out as transgender, first to her family and then to her professional colleagues. Through her journey, she acquired compelling insights on diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession.

All this week, Litera TV has been celebrating Pride Month with programs that explore issues surrounding DEI in law. For my Law Insights program, Power joined me to share her story and discuss some of the lessons she has learned about DEI in law firms and beyond.
