Paradigm, the parent company to four legal practice management and payments products — PracticePantherBill4Time, MerusCase and Headnote — today announced the expansion of its leadership team with the hiring of two executives, one who will oversee product management and the other marketing.

Joining Paradigm as vice president of product management is Marie Burgess, who was previously senior director of project management at Aderant. Joining as vice president of marketing is Mayowa Oyebadejo, who was most recently project leader at Boston Consulting Group.

Burgess brings over 20 years of experience launching and scaling legal software solutions to law firms ranging in size from small and medium up to the Am Law 100. At Aderant, she helped drive the expansion and innovation of its portfolio of legal software offerings, helping propel the company through multiple phases of growth.

Oyebadejo comes to Paradigm with substantial experience leading marketing and growth strategies in the technology and consumer sectors. At Boston Consulting Group, he focused on driving new product launches at multi-billion dollar technology companies. Prior to BCG, Oyebadejo helped lead consumer marketing for NBCUniversal’s cable portfolio.

During a Zoom call this week, Burgess said she will be responsible for overseeing development of the entire product portfolio. She said there were two aspects of the company that were particularly attractive to her.

“One, it’s such a unique position to be in, to actually be able to come to a company that’s in such a growth mode,” Burgess said. “Second, to be transitioning from a company that was on-prem and cloud focused to one that is a cloud-first company, one that’s focused all on cloud solutions, that was something exciting and challenging for me — to be part of what Paradigm ends up becoming over the years ahead.”

Mayowa said he was attracted to join Paradigm because he sees it as a company with tremendous vision, people and products, that is well positioned to grow.

“In my career, I’ve always been passionate about industries that are really prime for continued disruption as it pertains to technology,” he said. “Coming from my time at BCG, my time in media, I did a lot of that work, helping industries navigate that. I think the place that the legal industry is in and the way that Paradigm and their suite of products is positioned to inform that was exciting. I’ve been at this brink before, and there were a few things more exhilarating than this ride.”

He said he was also impressed by the company’s leadership and their cohesive vision for what the company is trying to achieve.

“We are delighted to have Marie and Mayowa join our core leadership team as we enter our next phase of rapid growth,” Soumya Nettimi, CEO of Paradigm, said in a statement. “With their leadership and expertise, we look forward to expanding our product suite and further innovating to help law firms operate more efficiently and easily than ever before.”

Originally called ASG LegalTech, Paradigm was formed by Alpine SG (ASG), a software platform company backed by Alpine Investors. It began by acquiring Bill4Time in 2017, followed by PracticePanther in 2018, MerusCase in 2019, and Headnote in 2020.

In October 2021, it was acquired by Francisco Partners, a major investment firm that specializes in investments in technology businesses.
