The International Legal Technology Association said today that it has eliminated the position of vice president of marketing and communications.

“As ILTA continues to innovate, we are realigning our professional staff to both increase internal efficiency and better serve our volunteers, members, and business partners,” a statement issued by the organization said.

The position had been held by Patti Moran, a San Francisco-based marketing profesisonal who had been in that role since August 2017.

Beth Anne Stuebe, senior content manager, publications, has taken over the role of principal press contact within the organization.

Stuebe confirmed that Moran is no longer with ILTA. “We wish her well in her future pursuits,” Stuebe wrote me in an email.

In a post here after ILTA’s annual convention in August, I recounted the various executive-level changes the organization has seen in recent years, resulting in some disruption. But this year’s conference, I wrote was marked by “the palpable sense of an organization reinvigorated.”

Part of that had to do with ILTA’s efforts over the last year to be more transparent with the press and more receptive to accommodating reporters and bloggers. As I wrote in that same post, a big hit at this year’s conference was a centrally located press room, that became a place not only for reporters to work, but also to conduct meetings and view product demonstrations.

ILTA says this latest move is part of its ongoing development and roll-out of a new strategic plan, of which it promises to share more details in the coming weeks. I, for one, will look forward to learning more about ILTA’s future plans for working with bloggers and the press.
